About Stretched Mums classes
My classes are designed for mothers who want to feel stronger, calmer and more stable, with an increased sense of space in their bodies and minds. Movement in my classes is fun, functional and exploratory, helping you feel more balanced, connected and aware. Feeling more present and “in the moment” helps us sense how we’re feeling in our day-to-day lives and get more skilled at regulating our own moods and thought patterns, great for the challenges of motherhood!
In these classes you’ll get a chance to learn more about your body and feel more connected to it, have some fun and feel challenged in a totally non-pressured or judgemental way. You can move as much as you want to and rest as much as you want to. It’s totally up to you.
I'm a 200 hours registered Yoga Alliance teacher and a certified Birthlight Postnatal Yoga Teacher. I trained as a yoga teacher at the age of 34 (pretty old!) after practicing yoga for many years. Originally I fell in love with yoga because it made me feel better in almost every way. My body felt healthier and full of new possibilities. I learned to handle my anxiety. I started experiences in the present instead of obsessing about the past or future.
I became a teacher partly to share all the things I'd found so helpful but also to teach what I needed to learn and keep learning. It's wonderful to share the teaching that I was lucky enough to receive and see the women in my classes slowly transform.
I trained under some of London's best loved vinyasa yoga teachers including Naomi Annand and Adam Hocke at Dalston's most welcoming yoga space, Yoga on the Lane, with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli for my pregnancy training and with Birthlight for my postnatal qualification.
I live in Crystal Palace with my partner and we have a funny and lovely three-and-a-half year old daughter called Rosa.
